Jarlsberg cheese dip

The first time I tasted this dip was from the grocery store called Bakers ( part of Kroger's ) in Omaha. One bite and I was in love . This was one of the best dips I've tasted and I make it every chance I get and it tastes just as good as it did numerous years ago. Jarlsberg is a Norwegian cheese, if you don't have it, this recipe can be made with generic 'Swiss cheese' as well .

Ingredients

Jarlsberg cheese - 8 oz ( cut the waxy part on the outside of the cheese off and grate it on the grater side with the bigger holes)

Mayonnaise- 1/2 cup

Red onions - finely chopped - 2 tbsp

Salt - 1/4 tsp ( to taste)

Garlic powder- 1/4 tsp ( optional)

Black pepper - 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Chill for about 2 hours prior to serving the dip
  3. Serve with crackers.
